Predicting Twitter User’s Political alignment

● Retrieved and processed 2000-2022 presidential debates’ transcripts and trained three models (Naïve Bayes, SVM, DistillBERT) based on cleaned text.

● Implemented web crawler to fetch over 500,000 tweets related to political topics, predicted based on the model trained, and achieved 85.43% test accuracy.

About Me

What I am all about.

Chenming Xing is a creative and highly motivated student at the University of Michigan. He has a solid background with object-oriented programming through a series of computer science courses at school and personal projects and internships beyond school hours. He had designed an online video editor to promote K-5 students’ interests in video editing. He gains full-stack developing experience during his past summer internship. He designed a software to collect pineapple growth information and facilitated machinery allocation efficiency in three months. He also has a substantial understanding on machine learning concepts and applications. In the independent study he conducted on predicting twitter users’ political alignments, he implemented a web crawler to fetch data and trained three language models that achieved very good results.
